Avionics MFD Display

Show here is a rugged cockpit Multi-Function Display (MFD) system. Developed for a military avionics upgrade program, this system integrates a sunlight-readable 6.4" active matrix LCD, Pentium®-class embedded computer, and expandable COTS PC/104-Plus architecture. This highly reliable MFD is designed for compliance with MIL-STD-810F, MIL-STD-704E and MIL-STD-461E.

This unit is designed to accommodate standard 1/4-turn (Dzus) rail mount installations and includes a front panel access door to three CompactFlash slots and one RJ-45 LAN port to enable simple installation/removal of mission data or to configure/program the device over a network connection. The unit also includes a MIL-STD-704E Input filter, DC/DC power supply, and internal solid-state disk (DOM) which accepts buyer-furnished application software.
 
To control brightness and application software, fourteen illuminated pushbutton keys surround the front bezel, which integrates a polycarbonate Lexan® window with hard, ITO, and anti-reflective coatings to protect the LCD. The sincorprorates a modular display head bezel that can be easily detached from the rear processor chassis for serviceability. EMI/EMC filters, beryllium copper strips, and elastomeric gasketing are employed to ensure reliable operation. Circular connectors for data, power, VGA, COM, and other PC signals are brought out the rear.
